You can do it........Yes you can....shhhh... don't worry!

Today we celebrate the feast of Penetecost, you know the one with the fiery tongues hovering over the head of the apostles. Today is also a special day as a former pastor came home to speak to cover for our pastor who is on vacation Fr. Dumont was in Berlin for 10 years and today is a sort of homecoming for him. We got a chance to chat a bit before Mass and I shared with him how this third year had gone by.

While listening to his homily I really enjoyed his message of hope and comfort. He spoke about how 2,000 years ago Christ left the Church in the hands of the Apostles. He spoke how little time he had spent with them, approximately 2 1/2 years. Teaching, correcting, camping, being with them His friends. He spoke how they struggled when He died, how excited they were when He rose again, and how discouraged they soon became when He said He was leaving them.

He told them "you can do it " the Church is now in your hands. Despite their doubts he told them to keep believing, because I do, and I know "you can!" He then shared the message of the "Good Shepherd" and how Jesus would comfort us like our mothers and fathers and hold us tightly in His arms and tell us....."Shhhh.... my little one....don't worry, I'll take care of you!"

The Church has been handed down to all of us to share the "Good News" of Christ. There are less and less of us attending Mass and we must persevere in this endeavor. Even though we may struggle and get discouraged at times we need to remember that He gave us the Holy Spirit and that he is holding us ever so tightly to get back up when we have fallen, believe that together "We cand do it!"

Bonjour et Adieu mes Amis,

Mitch
